The award was for a system called the UAT Recon Data Mart. These programs aided the UAT Control team in administering a complex mirror approach to tracking the real stock market positions created through UAT scripts, while hedging these positions to avoid risk, and enabling validation of a new bookeeping system against the old system. The system consisted of two pieces. UATLoad, the load routine for the data mart ran nightly against production DB2 tables, and inserted data into SQL Server 7.0 tables after cleansing and modification. The second piece, UATRecon enabled automated reconciliation of activities, positions and balances. The system used the following technologies: Visual Basic 6.0, ADO, Shadow Direct ODBC driver, DB2, T-SQL Stored Procedures, SQL Server 7.0.
